- José Manuel Durão Barroso was President of the European Commission from 2004-14. He was previously Prime Minister of Portugal from 2002-04. After university, Barroso embarked on an academic career, working successively as a teaching assistant on the Law Faculty of the University of Lisbon, in the Department of Political Science of the University of Geneva, and as a visiting professor at the Department of Government and School of Foreign Service in Georgetown University (Washington, D.C.). In 1995, he became head of the international relations department of Lusíada University (Lisbon). In 1999 he was elected President of the PSD Party in Portugal and was re-elected three times. During the same period, he served as Vice President of the European People's Party. As Portugese State Secretary for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation he played a key role as mediator of the peace accords for Angola in Bicesse (Estoril, Portugal) in 1991, and as Minister for Foreign Affairs he launched the talks with the Indonesian Minister of Foreign Affairs, under the auspices of the Secretary General of the United Nations, that ultimately led to the independence of East Timor. Under his leadership, the PSD won the general election in 2002 and he was appointed Prime Minister of Portugal in April of that year. He remained in office until July 2004 when he was nominated by the European Council and elected by the European Parliament to the post of President of the European Commission. After his presidency he has started to give guest lectures at Princeton and Berkeley Universities as well as at the universities of Geneva and Lisbon. Since March 2015 José Manuel Durão Barroso is President of the UEFA-Foundation for Poor Children. - Adair Lord Turner, Chairman of the Institute for New Economic Thinking and former Chairman United Kingdom Financial Services Authority
- Lord Turner is Chairman of the Institute for New Economic Thinking. Prior to joining the Institute in 2013, he chaired the UK Financial Services Authority (2008-2013) and played a leading role in the redesign of the global banking and shadow banking regulation as Chairman of the International Financial Stability Board’s major policy committee.
Lord Turner has combined a business career with public policy and academia. He was at McKinsey from 1982-95, building their practice in East Europe and Russia in the early 1990s; was Director General of the CBI (Confederation of British Industry) 1995-2000; became Vice-Chairman of Merrill Lynch Europe (2000-06) and was a Non-Executive Director of a number of companies, including Standard Chartered plc (2006-08). In 2015 he joined the Board of UK start-up bank OakNorth, and was appointed non-Executive Director at Prudential plc. He is also chairing the Energy Transitions Commission, and is a Trustee of the British Museum. Adair, a cross-bench member of the House of Lords since 2005, served as the first Chairman of the Climate Change Committee (2008-12); and chaired the Pensions Commission (2003-06) and the Low Pay Commission (2002-06). His latest book Between Debt and the Devil, was published by Princeton in 2015 and has been translated into Chinese; other publications include ‘Just Capital-The Liberal Economy’ (2001); ‘Economics After the Crisis’ (2012). He is Senior Fellow at the Centre for Financial Studies (Frankfurt), and a visiting professor at the London School of Economics and at Cass Business School. - Jean-Pierre Danthine is President of the Paris School of Economics and member of the Board of Trustees of the Center for Economic Policy Research (CEPR) in London. He is also member of the Board of the Fondation Leenaards in Lausanne. He was a member of the Governing Board of the Swiss National Bank (SNB) from January 2010 to April 2012 and its vice-chairman from May 2012 until he retired on June 30, 2015. Before joining the SNB, JPD was Professor at the University of Lausanne and Managing Director of the Swiss Finance Institute.
- Dietrich Domanski, Deputy Head of Monetary and Economic Department und Head of Economic Analysis, Monetary and Economic Department Bank for International Settlements
- Dietrich Domanski is Head of Policy Analysis in the Monetary and Economic Department at the Bank for International Settlements (BIS) in Basel. He oversees the preparation of the regular meetings of central bank governors at the BIS and of the central bank committees hosted by the BIS. Before joining the BIS in 2000, Dietrich headed the capital markets group in the Economics Department of the Bundesbank. He also worked as IMF Advisor to Bank Indonesia during the Asian crisis. At the BIS, Dietrich was in charge of the macroeconomic analysis unit (from 2005-07) and was Secretary to the Committee on the Global Financial System (CGFS) from September 2007 until August 2010. Dietrich has published on a range of financial stability issues in German and English. Klaus graduated with a Master's degree in Business Administration from University of Fribourg in Switzerland and holds a PhD degree („summa cum laude“) in Finance from the same university.
He was named "most successful European entrepreneurial private investor of the year" in 2006 by a group comprised of IESE, INSEAD and the University of St Gallen.
In 2011, Klaus was named the NOAH Internet Investor of the year. In 2013, Forbes ranked him first among European investors on the 2013, 2014 & 2015 MIDAS list.
- Manuel Leuthold, Verwaltungsratspräsident compenswiss Ausgleichsfonds AHV/IV/EO
- Vom Bundesrat gewählt, ist Manuel Leuthold seit dem 1. Januar 2016 als Verwaltungsratspräsident der Ausgleichsfonds AHV/IV/EO im Amt. Des Weiteren übt er verschiedene Verwaltungsratsmandate vor allem im Banken- und Immobilienbereich aus. Zudem ist er Präsident der Wirtschaftsförderung des Kantons Waadt. Zuvor war er während rund 4 Jahren als Group Chief Administrative Officer bei der Edmond de Rothschild Gruppe tätig. Von 1984 – 2011 war Manuel Leuthold über 27 Jahre in verschiedenen Funktionen für die UBS tätig, dies vor allem im Corporate Banking, in der Commodity- und Trade Finance. Als Mitglied der Geschäftsleitung von UBS Schweiz, leitete er den Bereich Firmenkunden und institutionelle Kunden in der Schweiz. Manuel Leuthold absolvierte einen Master in Rechts- und in Wirtschaftswissenschaften an der Universität Genf.

- Prof. Dr. Bernd Lucke, Spitzenkandidat der Partei Liberal-Konservative Reformer für die Bundestagswahl 2017, ist seit 2014 Abgeordneter des Europäischen Parlaments. Als Mitglied des ECON-Ausschusses für Wirtschaft und Währung vertritt er eine kritische Position gegenüber dem Euro, den er als hauptverantwortlich für die derzeitige Krise der Europäischen Union ansieht. - Michael Strobaek is a Managing Director of Credit Suisse in the International Wealth Management division. He is the Global Chief Investment Officer (Global CIO) and Head of Investment Solutions & Products, a unit that integrates the advisory, investment and delivery process.
Michael Strobaek joined Credit Suisse in May 2013, from a Swiss Family Office, where he was the Chief Executive Officer, the CIO and a Managing Partner.
Between 1996 and 2009, Mr. Strobaek was with UBS, where he was most recently the Head of Investment Management for UBS Wealth Management, and prior to that, the Global Head of Investment Solutions. Mr. Strobaek became a member of the UBS Group Managing Board in 2007.
Mr. Strobaek has more than 20 years of financial markets and managerial experience, overseeing international investment management operations. He started his business career as an Equity Analyst at Swiss Bank Corporation. Mr. Strobaek holds a M.Sc. degree in Economics and Business Administration from Copenhagen Business School, Denmark, and a CEMS Master degree in Finance from the University of Cologne, Germany. He is a CFA Charterholder and holds a CEFA / AZEK diploma.
